Homeless not Helpless

What’s up? Big time I updated this place, things are working out in the strangest of ways. I don’t know what happened but all of a sudden everything just made sense. Fell in to place. Distractions are everywhere, and sometimes it’s necessary you get hurt before you can move on and see life for what it is. I’ve started to realize what I want, finally, and it’s just growing stronger with every breath.

So next up is to make this a real thing, sit down with all the details. New things are a-coming. Watch this space.

Yeeww! Finally on me way to Amsterdam, last 24h has been hectic but feels so good to be on the way. Once I land I’m meeting up my friends from Dubai at the hotel, and then we’re heading out for dinner. I’m so excited to see them, it’s been over 4 years since the last time.

Current status report:
There’s some a-grade eye candy here at the airport whom I keep bumping in to, at first it was by accident but by now it is definitely by choice, I even chose the restaurant I’m currently at thanks to him. I’ve gotten my self one of the tiny airport-chenin-blanc-bottles and a banana. Life’s just pretty fucking epic at the moment. I’m about to board now so I guess I’ll put together a proper post tomorrow, just trying to get in to the habit of writing.

I’ll speak to yous again soon, for now here’s a one-go-selfie I took this morning in bed. Pretty impressed with my selfies skills.

Hey Everyone!

It’s finally time to start getting this boat off the shore, I’ve had a month off trying to enjoy summer but to be honest it only made me more stressed than I was before haha. So here I am back in action.

On Monday I leave for Amsterdam, a bit unclear how long I will be there for but I thought it could be the perfect opportunity to bring you with me and actually start experimenting with this blog and what it should be focused on.

I know I already have a few loyal readers who’s been checking in here even though it’s currently a little bit of a mess haha. Is there anything in particular you guys would like to see from my stay in Amsterdam?

I’l be doing my best but still a newbie so always fun with some input. Anyways, I’ll be back with some proper posts very soon. Till then stay golden xxx

Hi guys!

So this is my first post on here. Just wanted to write something quickly and tell you about me and more importantly – this! My new idea, my baby i have born for over a year now. It’s finally seeing daylight now, haha.

I will try to keep this short, just wanted something on here for the few of you that’s already made your way over here (:

Pretty Much Local is company founded and created by me, Therese Hansson. The idea for the name came when I was living in Australia, my friends and workmates would always refer to me as “pretty much a local”. This frase really stuck with me, as it implies something more than just who you are or the fact that you are there visiting.

Travelling is one of my main interests in life, and wherever I go – I really try to adapt to the culture and the customs of the community. I am a real empath, and love to connect with all different types of people. The people of a place truly makes the place what it is, and therefore i try to learn the language and the culture of the people. I feel as I have not really seen a place until I know it’s people. What are their passions and dreams? What are their struggles? How do they communicate with one another?

In a lot of cases language has been a huge barrier, not a lot of people actually do speak English when it cuts to the chase. This is why language has become such a passion in my life. I realized that me as a guest in a community is the one who should make the effort to communicate, and therefore my passion for learning new languages has grown tremendously.

The goals I aspire to achieve thanks to this webpage are:

  1. To communicate and share with you guys the real side of the places I visit. The inhabitants of a city, the language, the culture, the customs. The hidden gems. What someone who’s pretty much a local would do when they are there.
  2. Further on I aspire to make a change for the people of the communities I have the privilege of visiting. What are their troubles in life? How can I help them? I always want to leave a place, a situation or a person more beautiful than they where before i arrived. I aim to make the world a little bit better for everyone in it.
  3. Educate and mentor other people to become what they want, by pursuing my goals I aspire to inspire people who where in the same situation like I was. I want to make a change in the world, and I believe that changes are best made when you start with yourself, you learn yourself from teaching others, and therefore my progress can only evolve to the next level if i share with you the steps i have taken. If I let you come with me on this journey. If I even can only help one person to move forward in life, it would make me the happiest person in the world.

I will hit you up soon with some cool info, just felt the need to put some sort of blogpost up so that it doesnt look all empty (:

speak soon!

love,

Therese
